Scrubbing with HEART

Seems fall is just around the corner after a summer of open windows along with the hustle and bustle of the kids running in and out of the house for three months. It is time to address some dirt! I just had to pull out some yarn from RED HEART and work up some scrubbies.

As the package says, it IS perfect for dishcloths. I made up a few along with the little circle scrubs to help in getting this place in tip top shape for the events leading up to my oldest daughters BIG DAY! There is nothing that works better than this yarn. It is like a washcloth, but also has the scrubbing power of a plastic scrubber. IT is the BEST of both worlds that is for sure!

Happy 160th Birthday!

September 7 marked Raggedy Ann's 160th Birthday...so
I figured she was 160 because she was first written about in 1915...and was 59 years old at the time which the author John Gruelle mentions in the preface of his first book. I know her birthday is officially September 7, but as with all things these days, I am a bit behind.

WELCOME September Paper Lady

The next addition to our 2016 Collection of girls makes her debut today. I had such fun creating this one, and I couldn't believe we hadn't made a girl dressed in lavender yet. Lavender is the perfect color for September. As Samm was creating quite a beauty resembling Elizabeth Taylor.... I was creating my grandmother. She had black hair, and hazel eyes. Her favorite color was lavender.
I think I ended up with Corrie from Quilt Taffy...lol. She does look a bit like Grandma, but something about this pretty girl reminds me of Corrie. What do you think?

D:D...me.... and Colonial LaDy *UPDATE

Good Morning!
I have been on hiatus for a little while, but now that school is back in session today I have a day of peace and quiet. I always get a little down on the first day of school. The reality of another year passing by and the kids growing up is getting harder to accept. I am the mom that has a little cry each year because my kids excitedly run back to school without much of a glance back.. and it kind of reminds me of the future as I know I will have to hug them and send them on their way out into the world...HOWEVER... do you know the perfect pick me up? Well... I do thanks to that amazing friend of mine Madame Samm! I have switched my focus to another Dish Dress! It is impossible to be sad making these adorable little beauties. Samm has the best ideas, and this one is so much fun.... let me show you mine.

Yep, here she is... I wanted to start with a small little black towel I had hanging around here. I plan to have at least two more by the end of the day and I know there are going to be many more to follow.
I did make another.... and another... and another! I had to add a bit of applique, and a peter pan collar. This little beauty has sparked a whole new collection of towels and I can't wait to show you them!! Stay in touch, because I will be showing them soon. I am a little obsessed with this pattern right now.

Welcome AUGUST Paper Lady

Another month is here, and quite a busy one as summer comes to an end and everyone is getting that last little get away in before summer fades. I think it is the perfect time for a picnic don't you?
Our August Paper lady thinks so too. She is dressed in the most adorable picnic dress, and being friends with Samm, well I am sure she has gotten some of the tastiest treats too!

What's holding YOU back?

I have been working on a few things this week. I have finished another Lucy and put her in the eBay shop.

She is so very much like Samm's Fob with her gingham skirt and all.
I have been in an aqua mood the last little while.
